Tammy Long
Lead Pastor
Tammy Long is currently serving as the Lead Pastor at South Bay Community Church in Fremont, CA. She was Co-Lead Pastor from 2018-2021, after serving as the Executive Pastor since 2010. She has a Master’s Degree from Cal State East Bay and a Master’s Degree from North Park Seminary. She is an educator, trained spiritual director, and a published writer.
Tammy is passionate about seeing people connect with God and grow deeper in love with the Father, Son, and Spirit.
Ashley Watson
Youth Ministry Director
Born and raised in San Jose, CA, Ashley Watson is a young aspiring ministry leader. Attending Maranatha Christian Center from a young age, Ashley learned to live a life for God. She started playing basketball at 6 years old, and over the years began to quickly identify herself as a basketball player. During the demanding life of college sports, she realized she was more than her sport and began searching for her purpose in life.
With the help of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), she found her identity in Christ. After volunteering with FCA, she developed a passion to teach youth on how to live a life for Jesus Christ.
Currently she works as an accounting assistant part-time and is in the process of coming on staff with FCA.
Harry Cox
Associate Pastor
Harry Cox has been serving in various part-time ministry positions since 2000. He received his Certificate of License to preach the gospel ministry in 2000, and was ordained as pastor in 2003. He earned a Master’s Degree in Business from Cal State East Bay and a Master’s Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.
He had a distinguished career as a senior corporate executive, serving as Chief Tax Officer with worldwide responsibility for a major technology company until his retirement from that position in 2016.
Get to know Pastor Harry: Harry has a passion about digging for the treasures in God’s Word and sharing those treasures in preaching, teaching, writing, and authentic relationships in loving neighbors. His joys include life-long enjoyment of multiple sports and precious time with his wife and children.
Stanley Long
Pastor Emeritus
Dr. Stanley Long, founder of South Bay Community Church in 1985, has served in Christian Ministry for 50 years. He has a M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary; M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University; and a Doctor of Divinity from Nyack College. He serves on the Board of Directors of Urban Ministries, Inc.; is Chairman of the Pacific Southwest Conference Executive Board for the Evangelical Covenant Church; and a certified, trainer, speaker and coach of the John Maxwell Team.

Nita Owens
Missions Outreach Coordinator
Alginita (Nita) Owens has been unofficially serving in the capacity of the Missions Outreach Coordinator at South Bay for nearly 10 years. Officially accepting the position in 2021. She oversees South Bay’s P.E.A.CE. Core Team, managing a 12 month calendar for internal and external (community) projects and initiatives.
She mentors those who wish to find their FIT by working and serving in the capacity of what they are most passionate about. She holds 2 U.C. Berkeley Certifications in Information Computer Systems and Project Management, which serves her well in her role as the Missions Outreach Coordinator and as Cyber-Security Program Manager in her corporate profession.
Get to know Nita: She is an excellent cook and loves to have you at her table. She is passionate about serving others as a Missionary and has planned Missions trips abroad through her company; The Missionary Experience and for South Bay Community Church.
Gayle Caban
Office Manager
Hailing from Massachusetts, Gayle Caban has spent most of her career as a software developer in both the healthcare and manufacturing sectors. She raised two lovely daughters with her late husband then had the privilege of becoming his caregiver for 9 years after he developed a debilitating disease.
She strives to be active in her church, leads a small group women's bible study, is passionate about deepening her relationship with the Lord and is part of a small group seeking to raise awareness of local social justice initiatives.
Get to know Gayle: She loves reading, nature, worship music and taking long walks.
