There is Thanks in Giving!
As we prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving season, we plan our menus, our travel, our time around the table, and our time with family and friends to partake in food that has been so lovingly prepared.
Our brothers and sisters in the Southeastern part of the United States won't have this opportunity to give thanks. Instead, this kind of Thanksgiving won't be a reality for millions affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton.
We are blessed in many ways. When we partnered with New Life Covenant Church in Atlanta, we also partnered with Rev. Dr. Catherine Gilliard, who has served as co-pastor of New Life Covenant Church in Atlanta, Georgia. We spent time with her while on our pilgrimage this past summer.
She serves as Superintendent of the Evangelical Covenant Church's Southeast Conference and oversees the areas affected by the hurricanes in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Rev. Dr. Catherine Gilliard is on the ground, leading the effort through our ECC Covenant to relieve the affected areas under her watch. Yes, there is Thanks in Giving. Those who receive your donations will be thankful.
South Bay Community Church, let's make a difference and directly impact those in need by giving.
You can make contributions through the giving portal (select 'Disaster Relief') or through our traditional offering options.

Bring Christmas Cheer to Women at Elmwood Prison
This Christmas, let's bring warmth and joy to women at Elmwood Prison, separated from family during the holidays.
Through our P.E.A.C.E. Ministry, we share God's love in a way that brings light to those who need it most.
Join us on Saturday, December 7th, from 10 AM to 1 PM as we pack holiday gift bags filled with treats, essentials, and messages of hope. These gifts will be delivered to remind each woman that she is seen, valued, and loved.

Spread Holiday Cheer: Volunteer to Cook and Serve at Abode Every Second Saturday!
As we embrace the holiday season, a time of giving and compassion, we invite you to join a special initiative to assist those in need. Be a beacon of hope and change by participating in our monthly event at Abode, held every second Saturday. Let's come together to cook and serve meals this festive season, offering warmth and care to those less fortunate.
In line with current health guidelines, masks are mandatory, and teams will be kept small to ensure everyone's safety. Your support is crucial in this endeavor, as we aim not only to feed the stomach but also to nourish the soul of our community. This holiday, let's unite to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
For any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.
If interested in participating in one of the upcoming opportunities to serve, please fill out the form below so one of our P.E.A.C.E. team members can connect with you.
